    TAQA gets go-ahead for Morrone development in North Sea

    Britain’s government has approved TAQA Bratani’s development plan for the Morrone field in UK central North Sea block 9/23b.

    ABERDEEN, UK – Britain’s government has approved TAQA Bratani’s development plan for the Morrone field in UK central North Sea block 9/23b.

    Initially, TAQA plans to drill an extended-reach well from the Harding platform, 5 km (3.1 mi) to the north. First oil is expected next summer at a rate of more than 3,000 boe/d.

    The company assumed operatorship ofHarding and Morrone from BP earlier this year.
