LONDONIkon Science is partnering with information management company FUSE IM to develop and support a new open knowledge management system for rock physics and associated data. The first version of this system is to be commercially available this month under the brand name RokDoc MetaStore.

Using an advanced metadata engine and GIS-based search and filter tools, licensees can manage, locate, and aggregate information and knowledge from past QI, GeoPressure and GeoMechanics projects, including rock physics measurements from core and laboratory studies, algorithmic relationships, analytic information, and geologically referenced reservoir and overburden data.

Data input/output will be possible in all standard industry formats. The application will be Java based, giving cross-platform Windows and Unix access, and enabling cloud- and private cloud-based hosting accessed from a Web browser.
