WESTHILL, Scotland– Single Buoy Moorings Inc. has contracted Tritech International to supply mooring line and riser monitoring technology for the BP Quad 204 development newbuild FPSO.

The RAMS technology will provide 24/7 real-time simultaneous monitoring of all subsea targets beneath the FPSO. Tritech is to supply a full hardware and software solution. In addition to the software’s ability to assign user-defined alarms for early warning failure detections, data gathered from the RAMS system’s continuous real-time monitoring will be analyzed for asset fatigue studies.

The RAMS system will be deployed through deployment chutes in the FPSO turret, following its anchoring about 161 km (100 mi) off the west coast of Shetland, in a water depth of 350-450 m (1,148-1,476 ft).

Tritech has contracted Subsea 7 IAS team to design, develop, and supply the deployment system.
