TORSHAVN, Faroe Islands – Centrica Energy has temporarily suspended production from the Chestnut oil field in the UK central North Sea.

According to partner Atlantic Petroleum, this is a precautionary measure following an issue with the mooring system on theSevan Hummingbird FPSO. One of the 12 mooring lines lost tension, and the cause needs to be investigated.

The partners are working with duty holderWood Group PSN and FPSO owner Teekay to repair the damaged line and confirm the condition of the remaining lines prior to the restart of production, expected during the first week of December.
