CALGARY, Canada – Suncor Energy has started maintenance on the Terra Nova FPSO, 350 km (217 mi) southeast of St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador.

The program is expected to last around 11 weeks.Production will be suspended for the entire period.

Earlier this year an inspection of the facility revealed damage to one of its nine mooring chains. As a result, Suncor decided to extend the previously planned four-week maintenance campaign to 11 weeks to repair the chain and perform preventive work on the other eight chains.
