STAVANGER, Norway – A defective gas compressor at the BP-operated Ula field in the southern Norwegian North Sea is impacting operations at satellite tie-in fields.

As a result, production from the DONG-operatedOselvar field is shut down, according to partner Noreco.

The compressor was scheduled to be replaced in September, but BP is discussing with vendors whether replacement can be accelerated. Noreco expects Oselvar to remain offline until the end of September.
