Husky hires Aker for long-term White Rose support services

Husky Energy has contracted Aker Solutions offshore engineering services to support activities at the White Rose field development.

ST JOHN’S, Canada – Husky Energy has contracted Aker Solutions offshore engineering services to support activities at the White Rose field development.

The field, 350 km (217 mi) southeast of St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, produces through an FPSO.

Aker will perform studies, engineering, procurement, construction and installation modifications, and campaign maintenance services over a five-year period under the $156-million contract. The duration could be extended by up to 10 one-year periods.

About 70 Aker management and engineering employees will work onshore, along with 20 people on rotation offshore.
