HELSINKI, Finland – Wärtsilä is to supply a direct electric heating (DEH) system for Chevron Overseas Congo’s Lianzi development. The project is located off the Republic of Congo and Angolan coasts.
The 9-MW system will heat the 43-km (26.7-mi)subsea production pipeline in 900 m (2,953 ft) water depth that will connect the Lianzi field, 100 km (62 mi) off Republic of Congo, with the Benguela Belize Lobito Tomboco (BBLT) platform offshore Angola.
DEH is used to avoid formation of hydrate plugs and wax in production flowlines.
