VLISSINGEN, the Netherlands – Technip France has contracted Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) for construction services on the Hejre platform destined for offshore Denmark.

HFG will procure and fabricate the jacket, piles, and pre-drilling wellhead deck for theHejre oil and gas field in the central Danish North Sea. All will be built in HFG’s Vlissingen yard.

The 8,000-ton jacket will be an eight-leg launch structure, 60 m high, 35 m wide and 85 m high (197 x 115 x 279 ft). The DSME-Technip consortium will fabricate the topsides at DSME’s yard in South Korea.

Preparations for the contract started at Vlissingen in January. The jacket, piles, and 500-ton pre-drilling wellhead deck are due to be completed and installed offshore during the first half of 2014 by Heerema Marine Contractors.

Drilling will then start, followed by installation of the topsides in 2015.

Hejre is in 70 m (230 ft) water depth. DONG operates the development, in partnership with Bayerngas.
