PARIS – CGG (NYSE:CGG)  reports setting two industry records recently. The first is in deploying the longest offsets for a full-azimuth multi-vessel survey, and the second is a towing configuration size record.

The full azimuth record offsets of 18 km (11 mi) came during the multi-clientIBALT survey in the Gulf of Mexico using CGG’s StagSeis configuration.

The towing record also came in the GoM with theGeo Caribbeanvessel’s 13.44 sq km (5.2 sq mi) configuration. CGG says this is the largest ever man-made moving object on Earth. To meet survey objectives, CGG proposed a wide tow of eight streamers with 160 m (525 ft) of separation. Streamer length was 12,000 m/12 km (39,360 ft/7.45 mi).
