LONDON – Exxon Neftegas has awarded Kentz a shutdown services and operations support contract for the Sakhalin 1 development project offshore eastern Russia.

Under the $50-million contract, Kentz’s Technical Support Services division will supply all personnel, equipment, transportation, procurement, and front-end execution planning via its Sakhalin-based Russian joint venture operating company Kentz DEM LLC. It will also provide management of contractor and subcontractor resources.

The shutdown is scheduled to take place in July 2013 and involve about 600 personnel at peak.

Kentz supported Neftegas on Sakhalin 1 during its first shutdown in late 2010.
