ERLANGEN, Germany -- Siemens Energy has won contracts to supply topsides equipment including power generation, water injection and power distribution packages for a Brazilian FPSO. This is due to enter service in early summer 2012 and will produce from the Tiro and Sidon fields in the southern Santos basin.
Jurongs Shipyard in Singapore is purchasing the power generators and power distribution systems, while Wasco subsidiary Gas Services International Pte has ordered the water injection package.
Teekay Petrojarl Production has contracted Jurong Shipyard to perform modifications to the FPSO Cidade de Itajai (ex-FPSO ARCII), which Teekay will operate on Petrobras’ behalf.
Siemens will supply two SGT-400 power generation units, the sulfate removal unit (SRU), and an E-house. The latter contains medium- and low-voltage switchgear units, transformers, variable-frequency drives and associated facilities for power management in a purpose-designed, ventilated container. This weighs around 420 tons, and is 13 m (42 ft) long, 13 m wide and 15 m (49 ft) high.
The water injection system will be designed to handle 638 cubic meters per hour. Siemens will supply main elements for this system in skid format, including the sulfate removal membrane, SRU feed pumps, chemical cleaning and reverse osmosis.
The FPSO Cidade de Itajai will have an oil production capacity of 80,000 b/d and a storage capacity of 650,000 bbl.
