TEHRAN -- Production from the Hengam oil field in the Persian Gulf should rise from 10,000 b/d currently to 16,000 b/d by the end of October.

According to a report by Iranian news service Shana, National Iranian Offshore Oil Co. (NIOOC) is bringing a second well onstream at the field, 80% of which is in Iranian waters in the eastern part of the Persian Gulf, and 20% in Omani waters.

Hengam’s development, including research, design, facilities construction, and installation of associated subsea and overland pipelines were completed in less than 18 months, an unusually fast time scale for an Iranian offshore project.

In another report, NIOC Managing Director Ahmad Qalebani told Shana that the current South Pars phase 9 and 10 gas developments should both come onstream by January latest.
