DUBAI, UAE -- Maritime Industrial Services (MIS) has agreed to acquire Litwin PEL LLC from EMDAD Abu Dhabi. MIS says the acquisition builds on its decision last year to bolster its engineering capability and to grow its EPC business via the establishment of its Energy Projects International (EPI) division.

Litwin, also based in Abu Dhabi, is an EPC and engineering services company focussed on the Middle East and Africa oil and gas sector.

EPI’s strategic aims include building a strong presence in Abu Dhabi and other local markets, enabling MIS to participate in the region’s major oil and gas development program over the coming years. Litwin brings as staff just under 200-strong.

MIS also plans to extend its relationship with EMDAD through a marketing agreement.

Kevin Hudson, MIS’ managing director, said that Litwin “also provides synergies with MIS’ recently launched Production Services, and some of its value streams such as Fabrication and Technical Services.”

The Litwin PEL name will be retained for the next three years, with current CEO Pierre Leretz remaining in charge.
