MONACO -- The MOPUstor jackup platform for Talisman’s Yme field in the Norwegian North Sea has been completed, according to contractor SBM Offshore.

The platform is ready for load-out from the yard in Abu Dhabi, and will be transported to Norway. On arrival, the legs will be fitted at an in-shore location, followed by offshore installation of the platform. First oil is due from Yme this fall.

Also in Abu Dhabi, SBM is constructing three semisubmersible drilling rigs, scheduled for delivery in Q2, Q3, and Q4 2010. The first rig has been moved from the yard to deeper waters in the port of Abu Dhabi for installation of the propulsion system. Final commissioning is under way.

Another SBM-supplied MOPU, for EnCana’s Deep Panuke development off Nova Scotia, is in the assembly stage in the dry dock in Abu Dhabi. Construction should be completed towards year-end.

Among other projects, SBM has delivered the turret for BP’s Skarv FPSO in the Norwegian Sea. And the FPSO Capixaba has arrived ahead of schedule in Brazil for oil production service on Petrobras’ Cachalote field.

Recently, SBM won one-year extensions to lease/operations contracts offshore Angola from Chevron for the FPSO Kuito, and from ExxonMobil for the FPSO Xikomba.
