Offshore staff
LEIDEN, Netherlands -- Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) has begun construction on a marine supply base in Porto Amboim, Angola. The base is expected to become operational in June 2010 and will support the offshore transport and installation activities for the block 31 development and other offshore energy projects in the future, the company says.
The base will consist of a quay, which will be protected by a breakwater. It will also be equipped with two crawler cranes, four wheel loaders, and two forklifts.
