Helix makes Bushwood field discovery

HOUSTON -- Helix Energy Solutions Group has discovered additional hydrocarbons with the Bushwood No. 1 exploratory well in Garden Banks block 463, offshore Louisiana. The well was drilled to 25,271 ft (7,703 m) total depth and logged approximately 260 ft (79 m) of net hydrocarbons, including more than 150 ft (46 m) of net pay found in the deeper exploratory section, the company says.

The well was cased and is being abandoned temporarily for future completion of the deeper newly discovered zones.
