ABERDEEN, UK --Total E&P UK's West Franklin field in the central North Sea is producing 1.1 MMcf/d gas and 3,000boe/d of condensate following a workover operation in the F7Z well.

The field, which came on stream last month, is tied back to the Elgin utilities and quarters platform. It should maintain production through the Elgin/Franklin facilities at their capacity rate of 15.5 MMcm/d (547.4 MMcf/d) of gas and 130,000 boe/d of condensate.

Total is drilling a second high departure well, West Franklin B, which should deliver further production in 2008. According to the company, this is the deepest and highest pressure temperature development on the UK shelf, with initial reservoir conditions of 1,150 bar (16,679 psi) and 200º C (392º F) . The condensates are exported to Cruden Bay in Scotland via the Forties pipeline, with the gas heading to Bacton in England via the SEAL line.
