OSLO, Norway --SCAN Geophysical will have to wait a few more months for delivery of a modified seismic acquisition vessel.

TheM/V SCAN Stigandi is undergoing upgraded at the Irving Shipbuilding yard in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The vessel was due to start operations for SCAN in late November. However, according to its owner, Neptune Seismic AS, the program has been delayed by limited engineering capacity at the yard, and late equipment deliveries from one subcontractor.

New engineering capacity is being secured to accelerate progress, the vessel hopefully being ready early next year. SCAN was established in 2002, and is currently augmenting its fleet with one 2002-built 3D vessel and three new 8-10 streamer 3D vessels.
