PERTH, Australia -- Tap Oil Ltd. expects its Bambra-8H L1/8H wells in production license TL/1 off Western Australia to begin gas production by end of July or early August.

The Bambra-8H well is being drilled from the Harriet Bravo platform to a depth of 6,000 m (19,685 ft) prior to sidetracking for the second lateral well, Bambra-8H L1.

Tap says the objective is to develop the oil column in the south central portion of Bambra field, which is not being accessed by the producing wells.

The Bambra field is 4.4 km (3 mi) from the Harriet Bravo platform. Apache Northwest Pty Ltd. operates the field with 68.5% majority concession rights. Tap Oil has a 12.2229% interest, and Kufpec Australia Pty. Ltd. holds the remaining 19.2771% interest.
