LONDON --Plectrum Petroleum Plc. has started a 3,000 km (1,864 mi) 2D seismic acquisition on the Nabeul Permit offshore Tunisia using the CGG Princess. Operations are expected to last 30 days.

The survey is aimed at defining well locations for a drilling program targeting prospects analogous to those in nearby Oudna field.

"Our reprocessing of original seismic identified twelve prospects on the Nabeul block," says Mike Evans, Plectrum's COO. "This seismic data will provide a much higher definition of the prospects and allow us to identify exploration drilling locations."
