DALLAS --First oil from the Pioneer-operated Oooguruk field in the Beaufort Sea, Alaska, is expected in early 2008.

Offshore pipelay is complete, rig assembly is under way, and development drilling is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year, according to Pioneer.

The company also plans to drill a well to test the Cosmopolitan field in the Cook Inlet, Alaska, later this year.
