Origin gets offshore Kenya farm-in

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Kenya has signed documents allowing Origin Energy Ltd. to acquire 75% of the PSCs on blocks L8 and L9 offshore Lamu basin.
As a result, Origin is obliged to spend at least 4$ million on 2D seismic surveys in each block before Oct. 21, 2007. Origin is negotiating with Seabird Exploration FZ for theNorthern Explorer to conduct the seismic work.
Following acquisition of the seismic surveys, Origin will have an option whether to drill exploration wells in either or both blocks, or to relinquish either or both blocks.
