SINGAPORE -- COSCO Corp. (Singapore) Ltd. subsidiary COSCO Shipyard Group secured its first-ever FSO contracts totaling $74.8 million.
The 52,000 dwt FSO will be built at Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard starting January 2007, says Ji Hai Sheng, vice chairman and president of the company and vice chairman of COSCO Shipyard Group. Delivery is scheduled for March 2007 to an unnamed owner.
The FSO newbuild contract of $27.5 million starts in January, a $25.3 million contract for six single hull to double hull conversions began in August 2006, and two heavy-life vessel conversions worth $22 million are scheduled to begin in September 2006.
