    Shell hands MODEC Gato do Mato FEED

    Shell has awarded MODEC a FEED contract for the Gato do Mato Field FPSO in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

    TOKYO, Japan — Shell has awarded MODEC a FEED contract for the Gato do Mato Field FPSO in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

    The platform will be moored in 2,000 m of water, 250 km offshore, using a SOFEC-supplied spread mooring system.

    MODEC’s responsibilities cover the design of the hull and all related topsides facilities. Produced crude will be stored in the FPSO’s tanks and the oil offloaded to shuttle tankers.

    This will be the company’s second FPSO for Shell for operation in Brazil.
