SCHIEDAM, the Netherlands — Heerema Marine Contractors has asked Huisman to upgrade the mast crane onboard the Aegir monohull crane vessel.
The aim is to enhance the second main hoist capacity from 2,000 mt to 3,200 mt at a height of 110 m to suit installation of large offshore wind jacket foundations. The upgraded crane will feature a fixed jib section and a 3,200-mt lower block and hook.
Huisman delivered the vessel’s original 4,000-mt mast crane in 2013, and it upgraded the lifting capacity of the main hoist to 5,000 mt in 2020.
