MOSCOWGazpromneft-Sakhalin has completed a 3D seismic survey in the Pechora Sea offshore northern Russia over the Dolginskoye oil field and the Severo-Zapadny license block.

The survey, covering more than 5,000 sq km (1,930 sq mi), exceeded obligations under the license terms.

The program involved deployment of technologies and reportedly unique equipment, designed or modified for use in theArctic, from modern research vessels of ice class ICE-1A.

The vessels were equipped with a deck-heating system, steps, hand rails, and mountings and fixings for inflatable lifeboats. All the marine and seismic teams onboard were Russian nationals.

Gazpromneft hopes the results of the campaign will remove any major subsurface uncertainties.
