Offshore staff
ST PETERSBURG, Russia – Gazprom has signed up to a program for developing regulatory documents concerning Russian-produced subsea production systems during an Inter-Agency Working Group meeting in St Petersburg.
This was chaired by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Russia’s Scientific and Technical Council for the Development of Oil and Gas Equipment includes 14 specialist groups in areas of import substitution.
Gazprom representatives preside over four of those groups: Technologies and Equipment for Offshore Projects; Subsea Production Complexes; Gas Transportation Technologies and Equipment; and Natural Gas Liquefaction Technologies.
The company is supporting development of domestic subsea production systems (SPS) at various Russian research institutions. The aim is to produce SPS prototypes in 2019 and to perform comprehensive tests the following year.
Proposals are also under review for creating equipment foroffshore drilling rigs that is currently hard to source, due to sanctions against Russia. Gazprom added that tests have been performed on offshore seismic and electric prospecting equipment prototypes.
