YORK, UKC-Kore Systems has deployed its fault-detection tools to a subsea application in the Caspian Sea.

The hand-held C-Kore testing tools are designed to help operators locate the source of low IR or high CR in their subsea systems.

Measurements can be made directly subsea, eliminating the need for down-lines and their associated issues.

For this project, the devices quickly identified the source of the fault, allowing the operator to replace the faulty equipment and bring the systems back on-line with minimized vessel time problems.

Tim Overfield, C-Kore’s managing director, said: “With our new TDR product coming out, we will also be able to locate the faults on other operations such as the testing of downhole equipment.”
