MONACOSBM Offshore expects the VLCC for ExxonMobil’s Liza project offshore Guyana to sail into Keppel Shipyard in Singapore later this month, for conversion to an FPSO.

The program should get under way later this year: the shipyard’s work scope includes refurbishment and life extension works, such as upgrades to the living quarters, fabrication and installation of spread mooring systems, and installation and integration of topsides modules.

Due to continuing challenges in securing new work for offshore oil and gas projects,SBM foresees reduced use of its diving support and construction vessel SBM Installer.

In Angola, the activity outlook for the Paenal construction yard has also continued to deteriorate. SBM has a 30% interest in the joint venture that owns the yard.
