RUEIL-MALMAISON, France – IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) has entered into a partnership with two contractors for its Clip-Riser system for deepwater drilling risers.
Clip-Riser is a fast, boltless connector technology developed by IFPEN.
Houston-basedAFGlobal will provide inspection, maintenance, and repair of drilling risers offshore Brazil, with Port Fourchon-headquartered ExPert Riser Solutions performing a similar role in US waters.
In addition, IFPEN has signed a licensing agreement with AFGlobal for worldwide provision of spare parts conforming to the technology’s original specifications.
This should offer existing Clip-Riser customers a safe and cost-effective alternative for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of their risers, IFPEN said.
