    PSA authorizes two Statoil North Sea well campaigns

    Statoil has clearance from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority for an 84-day drilling and completion program at the Troll field in the North Sea.

    OSLO, Norway – Statoil has clearance from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) for an 84-day drilling and completion program at the Troll field in the North Sea.

    The semisubmersibleSonga Endurance is due to start the campaign soon.

    In addition, the PSA has approved Statoil’s application to drill exploration well 30/8-5 at North Sea license PL 190, starting next month.

    The semisubDeepsea Atlantic will drill the well in 92 m (302 ft) of water, with the program set to last 99 days, depending on whether a discovery follows.
