BOYNDIE, UK – Motive Offshore Group has completed a £1.5-million ($1.97-million) project to design and fabricate a loading tower for an unnamed subsea contractor.

The structure was engineered to project-specific requirements, including an under-bender chute and height extension sections.

The system can handle flexible products up to 550-mm (21.6-in.) outer diameter.

Motive delivered the equipment earlier this year toSwan Hunter, with the two companies collaborating to design and manufacture a 15-metric ton (16.5-ton) horizontal tensioner, a 10-metric ton (11-ton) vertical tensioner, a 450-metric ton (496-ton) reel drive system, and the 5,000-metric ton (5,511-ton) carousel loading tower.

The equipment is currently onboard theLewek Constellation vessel, 60 km (37 mi) offshore Ghana, and is being used to deploy flexible pipe.
