OSLO, Norway – Golar Partners and Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP) have agreed to amend the charter for the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Golar Freeze.

In return for agreeing to shorten the charter by one year, DUSUP has forgone its termination for convenience rights and extension option rights at a significantly lower daily rate.

Golar says that the conversion of the Hilli Episeyoto an FLNG vessel is nearing completion, with all equipment installed and pre-commissioning under way.

The priority is to perform as much testing as possible in the yard in Singapore and at anchorage in order to minimize the risk of issues arising at the destination offshore Cameroon: the vessel is due to sail from the yard around the turn of this month, with the voyage taking 32-40 days.

The mooring system has been installed in Cameroon ahead of schedule and is ready for hook up.

Offshore operator Perenco is also on track with its scope of works.
