Statoil drilling again in Heidrun area offshore Norway

Statoil has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill two wells 9 km (5.6 mi) north of the Heidrun TLP.

OSLO, NorwayStatoil has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill two wells 9 km (5.6 mi) north of the Heidrun TLP.

After completing a current appraisal well forFaroe Petroleum, the semisubmersible Deepsea Bergen will initially drill exploration well 6507/8-9 and pilot well 6507/9-U2, both in production license 124.

Statoil’s partners in the license are ConocoPhillips, Petoro, and Eni Norge. The area in this permit consists of part of block 6507/8.
