TOKYO – The FPSOIchthys Venturer has departed Okpo, South Korea, for the Ichthys gas/condensate field offshore Western Australia, following the completion of shipyard commissioning work.

According to operator INPEX, towing of the vessel to the site, 5,600 km (3,479 mi) to the southeast, should take one month, after which it is scheduled to undergo hookup.

The 336-m (1,102-ft) long, 59-m (193-ft) wide vessel will temporarily store condensate separated and produced by the central processing facility (CPF)Ichthys Explorer, 3.5 km (2.2 mi) away, with the condensate then offloaded to tankers.

The CPF arrived at the field location on May 29 following a 34-day tow. It has since been moored and is currently undergoing hookup and commissioning.
