LONDON – Tullow Oil expects to spud the Araku-1 exploration well offshore Suriname this fall.
Off neighboring Guyana, a 4,000-sq km (1,544-sq mi) 3D seismic survey is under way over the Repsol-operated Kanuku license, directly up-dip ofExxonMobil’s Liza discovery.
Results, Tullow says, will help define potential prospects for drilling in 2018/19.
During July, a 2,500-sq km (965-sq mi) 3D survey will begin over the company’s adjacent and contiguousOrinduik license.
Elsewhere in the region, Tullow is assessing data from a new 667-km (414-mi) 2D seismic survey offshore Jamaica, with a follow-on 3D survey in prospect in 2018.
Results from a 2,555-sq km (986-sq mi) 3D survey offshore Uruguay will help determine potential drilling prospects.
