OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has approved two production drilling programs on fields offshore Norway.

Aker BP has consent to use the semisubmersible Transocean Arctic to drill two production wells on the Alvheim field in the North Sea.

Wells 24/6-A-6 and 24/6-A-7 will be drilled into the Boa reservoir.

Eni can use the semisubScarabeo 8 for two new production wells at the Goliat field in the Barents Sea. One is for oil production while the other is for water injection.

A pilot hole will be drilled first and the producer drilled horizontally as a side track from this. The water injection well 7122/7-H-2 H will entail directional drilling.
