Offshore staff
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, Russia and ABERDEEN, UK – Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. has awarded Wood Group a five-year technical support services for the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project offshore eastern Russia.
Wood Group has worked withSakhalin Energy on the project for over a decade, providing engineering and construction support, including studies and modifications.
The scope of the new contract has been expanded to cover brownfield drilling upgrade services.
Offshore support duties cover the Piltun- Astokhskoye-A offshore platform (Molikpaq); Piltun-Astokhskoye-B offshore platform; and the Lunskoye-A offshore platform.
Wood Group, which has 200 personnel on Sakhalin Island, will be assisted in this program by the Gazprom-owned Russian design institute Gasproektengineering AOJSC, based 470 km (292 mi) south of Moscow in Voronezh.
