Sirius commissions pre-drill Ororo geotechnical survey

LONDON – Sirius Petroleum has contracted Polaris Consulting Co. to conduct a seabed survey over the Ororo field license area offshore Nigeria.

Polaris was due to mobilize a vessel to the site early this month, with the program expected to take around a fortnight to complete.

The geophysical/geotechnical marine survey will provide data for positioning of a drilling rig, including any marine geohazards in the area, in order to ensure safe operations and transportation of equipment.

COSL Drilling Pan-Pacific will then determine a suitable jackup for the anticipated multi-well campaign.
