PTSC commissions Keppel FloaTEC for CRD platform engineering

Keppel FloaTEC LLC has received a $40-million contract from Vietnam’s PTSC Mechanical & Construction to provide engineering services for the Repsol-operated Ca Rong Do TLP wellhead platform.

SINGAPORE – Keppel FloaTEC LLC has received a $40-million contract from Vietnam’s PTSC Mechanical & Construction to provide engineering services for the Repsol-operated Ca Rong Do TLP wellhead platform.

PTSC M&C, the service arm of PetroVietnam, is the main EPCI contractor for the TLWP, the first to be built in Vietnam and the first three-column TLWP in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Keppel FloaTEC’s duties include hull and mooring engineering, topsides basic engineering, and construction management support.

The completed TLWP will be deployed in 320 m (1,050 ft) of water over the Ca Rong Do field off southern Vietnam and will host up to 20 oil production, water injection and gas injection wells. Other planned facilities are a tender assisted drilling vessel and anFPSO.

Following a recent restructuring of FloaTEC LLC (the joint venture company between Keppel O&M and McDermott), the “FloaTEC” brand, intellectual properties and employees of the venture have been transferred to Keppel FloaTEC LLC.
