WARSAW, Poland – PGNiG Upstream Norway has acquired a 35% stake in the Storklakken discovery in license PL460 in the Norwegian North Sea from Aker BP.
The license is close to the Vilje field, where PGNiG has a 24.243% interest.
Aker BP discovered the Storklakken oil field in 2010, and plans a subsea tieback to the Alvheim FPSO with production starting in 2020.
PGNiG already has interests in 19 Norwegian licenses, which include the oil and gas fields Skarv, Vilje, Morvin, Vale, andGina Krog. Its Norwegian offshore reserves amount to 78 MMboe.
Exploration activity is in progress on nine of the licenses, including two operated projects. The company also plans to submit applications for additional acreage in upcoming Norwegian licensing rounds.
