KBR to perform Kazakh offshore concept studies

North Caspian Operating Co. has awarded KBR a two-year engineering services call-off contract.

HOUSTONNorth Caspian Operating Co. (NCOC) has awarded KBR a two-year engineering services call-off contract.

This covers conceptual studies and pre-front-end engineering services for projects in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.

Under the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement, NCOC acts on behalf of a consortium of seven companies comprising KazMunayGaz, Eni, Shell, ExxonMobil, Total, CNCP, and INPEX, operating offshore oil field developments includingKashagan, Aktote, Kairan, and Kalamkas.

Jay Ibrahim, KBR’s president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “This award continues KBR’s long time work in the Caspian region and our enduring relationship with the operators on these offshore developments to deliver economic and innovative solutions to further the development of these challenging projects, and our Caspian team is excited to provide fresh and cost-effective ideas to NCOC with a commitment of maximizing local content.”
