LONDON – BG Tanzania (Shell) and partners Ophir Energy and Pavilion Energy have concluded a two-well campaign offshore Tanzania, fulfilling the associated exploration license commitments.
TheNoble Globetrotter 2 drilled the deepwater Kitatange-1 well in block 1 and Bunju-1 in block 4.
Evaluation of the results confirmed good-quality reservoir, but both wells were dry.
The rig has been demobilized from the site. Subsequent to the completion of drilling Kitatange-1, the Tanzanian government has awarded a bridging license for the existing discovery locations in block 1.
