ABERDEEN, UK – Well-SENSE Technology is claiming a breakthrough in the development of its FibreLine Intervention (FLI) technology.

The performance is said to have exceeded expectations during rigorous testing and trials, proving that fiber optics can be repeatedly and reliably retrofitted into a well using the FLI system.

Tests included the application of distributed acoustic sensing surveys across the installed fiber-optic line: results were said to show that acquisition of data from oil and gas wells can be performed in a cost-effective and low-risk manner.

Well-SENSE describes FLI as a new, simplified approach to well intervention which combines various innovative concepts previously applied outside the energy sector in a single package.
