WANGARA, Australia – Oxair Gas Systems has won a contract to maintain the nitrogen generator plant built by Air Products on-board Shell’sPrelude FLNG vessel, which will be moored 200 km (124 mi) offshore Western Australia.

The vessel is designed to withstand a category five cyclone and to enable safe, reliable and continuous production of LNG offshore for 25 years.

It will receive 110,000 boe/d of natural gas and cool it into liquefied natural gas. The chilling process will reduce the volume of the natural gas by a factor of 600 which will then be loaded onto specialized LNG tankers ready for transport and sale worldwide.
