HOUSTON– Bisso Marine has completed a two-month saturation diving campaign in the US Gulf of Mexico.
The construction bargeBisso Subsea Vision performed a variety of subsea infrastructure services including several subsea abandonments in water depths ranging from 300 ft (91 m) to 723 ft (220 m).
Other work scopes included a Reverse “J” recovery of several miles of unpiggable 6-in. pipeline from 400 ft (122 m) of water. The 6-in. pipeline was lifted vertically through one of the moonpools on the barge. The pipeline was vented, saw cut, and scrapped within an enclosed decommissioning system designed to capture the contents of the pipeline.
The 415-ft (126-m) x 100-ft (30.5-m)Bisso Subsea Vision is configured with two pedestal cranes, the main crane having a 300-ton capacity and the auxiliary crane having a 60-ton capacity. The barge also features an eight-point mooring system capable of working in 1,000 ft (305 m) of water. It also includes two project moonpools (one 8-ft in diameter and the other 10-ft in diameter), a pipelay firing line system, open deck space, 100 bunks, and a helideck rated for a Sikorsky S-76.
The construction barge is configured with a 12-man ABS-classed 1,000-ft saturation system, which has a three-man bell deployed through a moonpool and a side-launched hyperbaric rescue chamber.
TheBisso Subsea Vision also recently completed the lay and burial of several miles of bundled pipeline in the US Gulf of Mexico in less than 200 ft (61 m) of water. The bundled pipeline tie-ins will be performed using the company’s four-point dive support vessel Joseph Bisso.
The company says all work was performed safely without downtime or incident.
