PARIS – Technip has completed floatover of the topsides for the FMB platforms offshore Qatar.
In late 2013Qatar Petroleum awarded the company an EPIC contract for a new living quarter platform and a utility platform, with a connecting bridge.
Technip’s floatover technique is designed for installation of large integrated topsides in one piece, minimizing offshore hook-up and commissioning, without the use of large crane vessels.
Technip’s operating center in Abu Dhabi, managed the program, with support from the contractor’s operating centers in Paris and Doha.
