Sea Trucks Group to provide accommodations offshore Nigeria

West African Ventures has received a contract from an international major for the provision of an accommodation vessel at a deepwater field offshore Nigeria.

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – West African Ventures has received a contract from an international major for the provision of an accommodation vessel at a deepwater field offshore Nigeria.

West African Ventures isSea Trucks Group’s principal Nigerian business.

The scope of work covers accommodation support services for 250 people, as well as to provide marine logistics support for the execution of the turnaround maintenance work scopes during the turnaround project.

Jascon 30, one of the group’s DP-3 accommodation construction vessels, has been nominated for the scope. The vessel is equipped with a 270-metric ton (298-ton) heave compensated main crane. It features accommodation for 296 persons, a heave compensated gangway and 700 sq m (7,534 sq ft) of unobstructed deck space.

Jascon 30’s accommodation capacity of will be increased with a portable accommodation block, which will be installed on the deck.

Offshore activities are scheduled to begin this month for a duration of three months firm, with options to extend.
