HOUSTON – An ExxonMobil-operated exploration well on the Skipjack prospectoffshore Guyana was unsuccessful, according to partner Hess.

However, the partners’ Liza-3 appraisal well on theStabroek block delivered sound results. Hess expects estimated recoverable resources to be at the upper end of the previously announced range of 800 MMboe-1.4 Bboe.

At the Joint Development Area of Malaysia/Thailand (Hess 50%), the operator shut down the field during 3Q to commission the booster compressor project.

As for theNorth Malay Basin project offshore Malaysia, installation has been completed of the topsides at three remote wellhead platforms, and development drilling operations continue.

First gas from the full field development is set for 3Q 2017.

In the North Sea, Hess’ net production from the Aker BP-operatedValhall field was down this summer, due mainly to a reduced drilling program.

The same applied at the Hess-operatedSouth Arne field in the Danish North Sea, following a planned maintenance shutdown.
